Freight Coordinator - Truck, Rail, Ocean, Air, Warehousing Vaughan 2104808

We are seeking an experienced problem solving Freight Coordinator that can put all the dots together in solving clients freight and transportation needs locally, country wide and internationally.

You will be taking our clients freight problems and putting a solution to them that will include Truck, Rail, Ocean, Air and Warehousing. You must be familiar with each.

You will be talking to clients, understanding their freight needs, reaching out to our partner vendors to secure final pricing, putting together the freight plan from pick-up to delivery anywhere in the world, provide client final pricing and oversee the execution of the delivery.

We are a Third Party Logistics (3PL) company located in Vaughn ON near Hwy 400 and Hwy 7. The Opportunity:

Manage customer accounts and business relationships to ensure timely and accurate delivery of product
Liaise with Truck LTL/TL carriers, Air Freight, Rail and Seafaring Ocean companies to provide transportation solutions to customers including quotations, tracking shipments and following up on arrangements
Respond to customers requests, answer questions and offer transportation services
Check emails/faxes and create new orders
Determine method of transportation, prepare bills of lading, invoices and other transportation documents
Estimate freight rates and calculate/record costs and weights
Provide detailed information in load notes and carrier specifications
Schedule pick-up and delivery appointments, plus track and trace shipments via phone and internet
Check and confirm order status of pick-ups and deliveries
Work with Rates team developing/maintaining pricing/costing matrices, RFIs/RFQs etc.

The Candidate:

We are looking for someone who wants to grow within our organization with leadership potential
CIFFA, IATA or Logistics Certification, and knowledge of Cargo 3000, an asset
Proficient knowledge of Railway/Road/Airlines/Steamship Lines transportation for importing and exporting shipments
Post-secondary degree or diploma plus a minimum of three years related experience in the 3PL provider work environment
Proficient knowledge of LTL and FTL carriers based for domestic and cross-border shipments
Knowledge of Customs procedures and requirements for clearances/bonds and Canadian/US border points
Demonstrated knowledge of payout rates to carriers by pallets, footage and per hundred weight
Goal driven with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment under minimal supervision with a high attention to detail and follow through skills
Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Solid customer service and negotiation skills
Ability to work flexible hours, on occasion
